Pharmacist and National Public Health Trainer

A Pharmacist and National Public Health Trainer, Darush Attar-Zadeh has specialised in the field of smoking cessation for over seventeen years and currently runs group sessions in the Chiswick Health Centre in West London.

He designs and delivers bespoke training events for QUIT, the NHS and numerous leading private establishments. He has also been involved in the development and delivery of the NCSCT Behavioural Support Training Programme.

Darush is actively involved in interactive training around motivational interviewing and behaviour change techniques. Some examples of the organisations he has supported include:

Healthy Living Pharmacies, GP practices, Nurses (NHS Health Check service) - very brief advice, smoking cessation, weight management, alcohol

Darush is the Author of the Knowsley Stop Smoking Practitioner Guide, has written many legal protocols and is a regular contributor to various journals, publications and medical media.

Jennifer Percival is a Nurse, Midwife, Health Visitor, Counsellor and Health Education Trainer.

She teaches communication and motivational interviewing skills to healthcare professionals across the UK, Europe and New Zealand and has worked closely with the WHO and International Council of Nurses.

From 2001 - 2013 Jennifer represented the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) as their tobacco policy advisor. Jennifer has written many professional articles and booklets for health care professionals. Her book ‘You Can Stop smoking’ published by Virgin has been translated into several languages.

Jennifer is best known for providing motivational master classes to support staff working with people struggling to change their lifestyle. She has been a lead trainer with the NHS Centre for Smoking Cessation and Training (NCSCT) and currently runs courses for the RCN.

Lisa is a Registered Nurse and Midwife and an experienced practitioner in smoking cessation with 15 years’ experience working as a Specialist Midwife delivering services and implementing strategies to tackle smoking in pregnancy and for the past 6 years has worked as a Freelance National Trainer.

Lisa has worked closely with the media, TV and Radio, filming a BBC Documentary, Misbehaving Mums to Be as part of the Bringing Up Britain Series.

She also works with the Tobacco Control Collaborating Centre, delivering Baby Clear Training nationally. The ‘Risk Perception Tool’, showcased on the Documentary, was developed by Lisa to tackle resistant pregnant smokers, forms part of BabyClear and has now been embedded into many areas of the Country. This model has been published in the BJM April 2012.

Lisa has written and delivered programmes for the National Centre for Smoking Cessation Training (NCSCT) has been involved in the development of Training for Research Programmes, worked on NICE GUIDANCE and written articles for publication.

Her expertise in this field has been recognised Internationally.

Post university Eve worked in a drug & alcohol rehabilitation unit gaining experience with supporting people with addictions. Eve has been a Specialist Stop Smoking Advisor in County Durham since 2000, she was a specialist advisor with pregnant smokers for many years and took the opportunity to work with level 2 services in 2011 supporting services in Derwentside.

Emma has worked in the field of smoking cessation since 2000, initially within her role in primary care as a stop smoking advisor and counsellor, and then as a specialist advisor for County Durham stop smoking service. Emma was a specialist advisor supporting workplaces initially and has supported level 2 services since 2007 looking after services in the Dales and Sedgefield areas.

Dawn is an Addictions Specialist having worked previously in a residential alcohol rehab unit and within the prisons settings; she has been a Specialist Stop Smoking Advisor with County Durham stop smoking service since 2006, having taken the lead on setting up robust support systems for level 2 services. Dawn provides support to services in Easington and Durham & Chester le St.
