As of 1st November 2018, Smokefreelife County Durham has a new-look service. In the past 3 years, smoking cessation services in County Durham have been offered across community settings, General Practices and Pharmacies.
The new universal service shifts the focus of providing stop smoking support via General Practices and Pharmacies, to a greater presence in the community and via digital platforms. The service is available to anyone looking to Quit smoking, with a focus on the 5 priority target groups, routine & manual workers, pregnancy, young persons, mental health and long-term conditions.
There will be 8am to 8pm coverage 7 days per week, including video chat, telephone support and an App. Through these new and novel methods, we aim to provide a high-quality stop smoking service to everyone across County Durham.
